Born from Yoshimura's championship-winning race program, this Race Series system trades weight and restriction for pure performance, pairing a stainless steel mid-pipe and dual stainless mufflers with sharp carbon fiber end caps for an aggressive, purpose-built look. Developed in the heat of competition, the R-77's trapezoidal muffler shape allows for a much larger volume of internal packing material than a traditional round design, translating directly into stronger flow and top-end performance. Yoshimura reports gains of up to 5% peak horsepower and 6% peak torque over the stock system, along with a weight savings of around 7 pounds. Every muffler is hand-built to exacting standards, with a MIG-welded front cap and an end cap riveted using high-end 304-L polished stainless steel rivets and bands. This is a closed-course competition exhaust — not legal for street or emissions-controlled use — designed for riders chasing every last bit of performance from their V-Strom 650.
